"What is the most important thing that you have learned from model UN class, and how can Model UN be applied to your life?"
The beginning of the Model United Nations class, I was so offended, because most of the time, we have to speak in front of the people. I am not good at talking in the public. I felt scaring and embarrassing and cause I got bad grade in this class. In the first semester, I felt don’t like this class, a lot of work that I have to do and a lot of the things that I didn’t understand. No one was helping me, maybe they wanted to help, but I just sat there and quit all the time. Second semester, I felt more interesting about this class, global issues, represent countries, solve the problems. When I get known more about this class, I became more outgoing, talking to the classmates, discussing to them and speak in front of people even they didn’t understand me, but I did what I can.
The most important thing that I have learned from Model UN class is that around the world, there are many people needs help, many countries have their own problems to solve. We have to represent different country to help other country around the world, also different problem has different organization to support and solve. Like UNICEF is an organization that helps to fix the child rights or needs. Model UN class helps me that I can practice how the real world is before I get out to the real life.
From the whole year, every day we get in the class, we will get the news about global issue that affects the world. Then I will know what happened outside the world. Model UN class is a class that to help the country to solve their current events. It helps me get ready to the real life, lets me know how the world outside, be prepare and know more event around the world.

Country: Chad
Topic: Child Soldiers
Name: Jay Guan
Children trust people easily, manipulated when often intimidated, but their ignorant impose by the military to be army child soldiers and fight in the war. There are three hundred thousand child soldiers around the world. In addition, the number of the children who force to be soldiers at the age of twelve growing up in war every year. About forty percent of the world military army organizations are using children to be in war. Not only boys are taken to be in war, also girls are taken for sexual abuse. In fact, they were drank sort of drug or alcohol and ordered to move forward on the battlefield. They have no choice; they tired, thirsty and hungry.
Use of child soldiers is an ongoing problem in Chad; children are forcing to get in the war by Chadian national army or other armed groups, most of the children’s ages are thirteen to seventeen. Most of them are living in displacement
Camps in eastern Chad. They always lure by money and cigarettes, some of them have been abducted or forced to join the armed forces, some of them have been motivated by poverty, those aged between thirteen and seventeen are used to fight in combat, as young as ten are used as porters or messengers. Also girls’ child soldiers often raped or stigmatized. There is a guy names Mahamat he entered the army when he was 12, the jobs he did was prepared food outside in the sun, every steps under his feet were blood and dead bodies with heads cut open. Child soldiers didn't get respect, the armed groups treat them badly. In May, 9, 2007, UNICEF signed an agreement with the government of Chad to demobilize all the child soldiers from the war to renew their life.
So many children are suffering in the war, especially Chad. Chad willing to get helps from other countries around the world with this problem. To the children, that the age under 18, Chad will give them an opportunity to get an education, food, clothes, or a place to live. Let them know that war should not involve with children, they should live like normal child, go to school and get education. Also Chad needs help from organizations of United Nation. It’s very bad to recruit small children into the army, for children who know nothing; Chad needs every country around the world to teach them how to love people, not to kill them.
